Transmitter LiPo Battery Review

If you are a frequent Walkera helicopter flyer like me, you will find this Transmitter LiPo battery very handy. This LiPo battery fits perfectly into the battery compartment of the Walkera transmitter, and also reduces the total weight of the transmitter. I don't know how much money I have spend on standard AA and rechargeable AA batteries over the last couple of years, but that all ended when I bought this Transmitter LiPo battery.

Transmitter operating times with the 2000mAh LiPo are magnificent. From the first day I started using the LiPo, it took about six weeks before I had to recharge the battery. LiPo batteries are very power efficient in transmitters with minimal Amp draw, but you have to be careful when using them in your Walkera transmitter. The total voltage of a fully charge three cell LiPo battery equates to 12.6V, so that it is 0.6V more than the designed 12V operating voltage range of the Walkera transmitters. To overcome this problem, you need a digital LiPo battery charger to monitor and stop charging at 12V, or to set the cut-off charging voltage to 12V.

The FUTABA AND JR connectors on the LiPo battery won't fit into the female connector of the Walkera transmitter, so you have to cut one of the LiPo battery connectors off, and replace it with the Walkera battery tray connector. Just be careful that you don't short-circuit the LiPo battery wires while removing the connector. Connect red to red, and black to black. Other than this small modification, this LiPo works perfectly with Walkera transmitters.

Specifications

• Size: 95x30x18mm
• Weight:114g / 4.03 oz
• Capacity:2000mAh
• Voltage:11.1V
• Connector : FUTABA and JR standard

Conclusion

I'm using one Transmitter LiPo battery in all of my Walkera transmitters, and swapping the LiPo between transmitters is quick and easy. Now I don't have to worry about short transmitter operating times and sudden power depletion while flying. Great product... Just keep an eye on the voltage during charging.
