LiPo Battery Review

The reason for this review is to make all LiPo battery users aware of the dangers regarding improper charging and handling of LiPo batteries. LiPo batteries are very dangerous, and should be handled with the greatest of care and respect. It's worthwhile to invest some money by getting yourself a good balanced LiPo charger.

From this video clip it is evident that LiPo batteries can explode. Just imagine this happening at home while charging your LiPo battery unattended.

How To Charge LiPo Batteries

• Use a LiPo charger to charge LiPo batteries

• Select the correct voltage when charging LiPo batteries

• Select the correct cell count when charging LiPo batteries

• Never charge LiPo batteries unattended

• Never charge LiPo batteries with the incorrect battery type selected like Ni-Mh, Ni-Cd or LiFe

• Use a LIPO-SAFE Charge Bag for extra precaution when    charging LiPo batteries

• For example, if you hare charging a 2000mAh LiPo pack, charge the LiPo pack at the rate of 2A (amps).  A 1200mAh  LiPo pack should be charged at a rate of 1.2A (amps). You can always charge the LiPo batteries at a lower rate for safety. Very high charge rates will result in LiPo batteries that get warm and might explode.

• Discontinue charging immediately if the LiPo pack gets warm to the touch

• Never short circuit LiPo batteries

• Swollen LiPo pack should be thrown away immediately
