About me
My name is Laurentius, and I am
from George in South Africa. As a small child I always had a
huge interest in anything that flies. When I was about 16
years old, I started to fly radio controlled fixed wing
planes. I did that for a couple of years and thoroughly
enjoyed myself.
When I turned 18, I started with my
Private Pilot’s License. At 20 years old I finished my
Commercial Pilot’s License with Instrument Rating. I flew
commercially for a couple of years, but stopped due to the
lack of opportunities in South Africa, and it is just to
expensive to fly on my own expense.
I started flying radio controlled
helicopters about two years ago with great satisfaction. I
like new and difficult challenges, that’s why R/C
helicopters was the way to go. I’m no expert on R/C
helicopters, but I would like to share my knowledge with you
so that you can enjoy the hobby like I do. I hope my website
will be helpful to all Walkera helicopter pilots.
Thanks Brett for helping me with the shooting of the video
clips for this website...
I have
started with the Walkera brand because they are good little
helicopters, cheap to maintain and their parts are easily
obtainable. Feel free to surf the web for more R/C
helicopters, but I think that you can’t go wrong to start
with Walkera as your first entry level helicopter brand. You
can also purchase yourself a PC flight simulator with
transmitter on which you can start your R/C helicopter
training, but if you are daring like me, you can skip this
step and buy the real thing. Keep in mind that a flight
simulator can save you lots of money in the long run and
will be helpful later on for more advanced 3D flight
training.
I have
the Walkera #4, Walkera 4#3,
Walkera 4#3B, Walkera 5G6, Walkera 1#A, Walkera #52
and
Raptor G2.
Please read my reviews on my
helicopters. You will also find photo's and video clips. |
